What you call beauty,

I call Superficiality

What you call ‘Whatever’

That’s what I call Beauty

The real kind

Because does it matter

If one has the body, the face

That of a god’s

If one is all brawn,

No need for brains, no questions asked

The picture-perfect image?

If they no heart

Have no brain

No spark of life, no love?

If all that matters is a pretty face

How do you even plan, think, expect

To find your happiness?

They’d be like a statue

And you’d be a lonely shell

Of what could be possible

Well maybe,

You, only you,

could be happy

You whose expectations

Are singularly based

On that which the eyes meet

Oh dear darling

Don’t do that

Looks won’t last

And wrinkles will start

Gray hairs will sprout,

And so will your tears

You know what,

You’d learn a lesson,

Looks don’t matter

Only the heart

Only the love

The true beauty

Life

Joy, pain, jealousy, love, hate

tears, smiles, fights and giggles

it all comes, it all goes

make up streaks and squiggles

it's all part of life

You just gotta keep on going

don't let problems get you down

it's not worth it, not at all

you get only one life, one chance

so live it up, don't live it down

enjoy all you got

learn from your mistakes

don't let anything get you down

just get back up and show them

prove them all wrong

fight for your dreams

cuz you're not alone

you got many on your side

you'll grow old

you'll look back

you'll finally realize

so many things have happened

some were special

some were worth it

and when you're old

you'll appreciate all you had

all you have have now

and all you'll have later

but some things,

you'll wish you'd done

that you'd done more

but by then it'll be too late

you'll only get one life

you'll only get one chance

no replays, no re-dos

it's all part of life

some day you'll realize

so don't live it down

you gotta live it up.

Broken Hearted

You told me forever

You’d love me

I think that maybe

Forever is over

I was sure that

It would take longer

Seems like just yesterday

You whispered “I love you”

It looks like to me

You lied mercilessly

Guess I was wrong

To even think it would last

I guess time just went

Oh so very fast

Best friend

You’re my best friend

The best one out there

There can never be another

Just like you

I am sure of what I have

This thing that we share

‘Cuz there’s nothing else

That can even compare

You’re friendship is special

Like flowers in bloom

Or like when a butterfly

Leaves its cocoon

It’s always there

Through times of trial

And those of denial

But mostly through

The happy times

The ones we share

The ones to remember

Just like we will remember US
